What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific points located along the bodies energy pathways called Meridians. This stimulation has a positive influence on the functioning of the internal organs, rebalancing the body and restoring health. Acupuncture forms part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a complete holistic medical system which aims to prevent illness and maintain health by improving the flow of blood and oxygen through the body. One way of achieving this balance is through Acupuncture. Acupuncture has a wide range of applications, from treating illness and pain to promoting health, wellbeing and vitality . In general most peoples experience of acupuncture is relatively painless. All needles are single use, steralized and disposable. The insertion and manipulation of the needles triggers the body to release endorphins which relaxes the sympathetic nervous system allowing you to enter a deep state of relaxation , the needles are then retained for 30-45 mins.
